For me that was such an enjoyable fun read! Delia, how could I have forgotten the thrill it gave me too! Your aunt sounded like she was something else!! You made me want to see this exhibition! Long live mermaids!

I especially loved what you had to say about how Hiba depicts the reality of womanhood by shifting the approach to representation of the female form.

I also loved the strong juxtaposition in the piece of Hiba’s preservation of the security and comfort of her female figures and the violence that pervades the culture of her homeland.

I need to watch Splash!

This made me cry (which speaks to waking up fragile) ? You are an incredible writer and I too like Hiba need the nearness of water to think to pray and to come back to myself. And for girls wishing for something beautiful to be something precious and wild both at once. Thank you❤️
